The people here treat Indian tourists as outsiders even though Sikkim is a part of India.
I have stayed here for a month and this place, with not a single beggar on the streets, is really clean & tourist friendly. You will see funky cab-drivers, bongs managing the hotels, people from bihar managing retail shops and other businesses with the well dressed Sikkimese people doing the sarkaari jobs.
Gangtok is extremely close to my heart as I have made friends for life.
The most famous landmark in #Gangtok is The Mahatma Gandhi Marg..
and check the picture to know why ?
MG Marg is a Spit & Litter free zone..
You will be fined 5k if you are caught littering or smoking or spitting in this Zone..
Gangtok at night… A must see..
Mornings were never so beautiful and a short early morning hike/run just to catch a glimpse of the mighty Kanchenjunga is tottaly worth the sleep sacrificed!!!!
Early morning run #Gangtok#
Green misty gangtok mornings
This is What I missed —
Get into the cafes, indulge & shop or just sit & relax !!!
Apna-Dhaba , Allen’s Kitchen and Coffee Shop are a must visit if you crave for tasty food(tough to find tasty foood in gangtok)
That’s me ##Gangtok##
